Founder/CEO
As an executive director, Urias oversees UMOVEMENT’s strategy and leads the SMT. He manages national and international educational partnerships (government, community stakeholders, PTAs), national and bilateral donor engagement and fundraising, child safeguarding strategies, and educational policy development. He also provides guidance for program accountability, including oversight of program planning, implementation, finances, communications, and advocacy. With his educational background in public administration, education, sociology and journalism, Urias has worked and consulted for several national and international organizations, including: UNESCO, African Development Bank and the United Nations Mission in Liberia.
Office Manager
Caroline coordinates and oversees our project/program and office staff, and provides administrative supervision throughout the organization. Caroline’s professional experience includes education, nursing, psychosocial counselling and social work. She previously worked in Liberian education and health sectors for local and international humanitarian organizations, including Right To Play-Liberia, International Medical Corps Liberia, and as a community youth volunteer. Her educational credentials include: Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education, C-Certificate in Primary Education, Diploma in Theology, and Training of Trainers in Early Childhood Development.
Finance/Administration Officer
Antoinette ensures compliance with all relevant financial and administrative policies and procedures, and oversees financial compliance with international donor funding. Prior to joining UMOVEMENT, she was an accountant for Liberia Prevention of Maternal Mortality, an institution that implemented numerous projects for the United Nations Population Fund. She holds a Bachelor of Business and Administration degree and a diploma in computer science.
Gender Officer
Siemon supports UMOVEMENT’s efforts to shift the power dynamics for girls and young women so they can more fully participate in decision-making processes and as Liberian citizens. Her work focuses on achieving gender equality in education, health, politics and inheritance rights so that there is greater male-female parity in Liberian homes and communities. Siemon previously worked as a journalist at Liberian national radio stations, building linkages for girls and young women as a radio program producer, reporter and announcer. She has participated in the Kofi Annan Institute of Peace Building and Conflict Transformation of the State of Liberia, championing Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at senior secondary institutions of learning. Siemon holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in mass communication from the State University of Liberia. She also holds certificates in Gender Studies, Conflict Prevention, and Realization of the SDGs.
Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Officer
Christopher joined UMOVEMENT as head of our Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) team. He previously headed the MEL team at Hilltop Schools and has a professional background in Liberian school management and administration, serving as a teacher, vice principal and principal. Christopher holds an AA degree in education from LICOSESS Mobile Teacher Training College. He earned several project management certificates, including Fundamental Project Management, Data Collection, and MEL from Philanthropy University, and a Professional Development Certificate from the African Methodist Episcopal University in Liberia.
